Understanding the calculation
Each amount is multiplied by its selected basis: totals once, per-person by travellers, per-day or per-night by that duration, and by people only when stated. Contingency applies to the subtotal, not to itself. Daily equivalent divides group total by days. Driving costs can be calculated in the related tool and entered as a total; fuel is not recalculated here.
Total = Σ(amounts × factors) × (1 + contingency / 100). Per person = total / people. Daily = total / days.
Worked example
Fictional EUR example: four days, three nights, two people. Transport total 200; lodging 100 per night for the group; meals 25 per person per day; activities total 100. Subtotal 800, 10% contingency 80, total 880, 440 per person and 220 daily for the group.
Assumptions and limits
Prices are manual and fictional in the example. No flight, hotel or exchange-rate search. Enter everything in the selected currency and include fees and insurance where relevant. Days include travel; nights are separate and cannot exceed model days.
