How it is calculated
Each expense is allocated to its participants. Equal shares use currency minor units, with remainders assigned by identifier order. Balance is amount paid minus amount owed. Settlement transfers preserve every balance.
Net balance = Amount paid − Share owed; Σ Net balance = 0
Hypothetical example; enter your own prices. Currencies are not converted.
30 / 3 = 10; A: +20; B: −10; C: −10
Assumptions and limits
Custom amounts must sum exactly to the expense. Positive balances receive and negative balances pay. The global minimum number of transfers is not guaranteed. Changing currency does not convert amounts.
