Electricity tariff comparison

Compare bills for two or more tariffs using manually entered consumption and prices.

Calculation inputs

Hypothetical example; enter your own prices. Currencies are not converted.

Currency changes the displayed unit; it does not convert amounts or fetch exchange rates.

Results

Every tariff must price the same bands. kW measures power, kWh energy. Unentered commercial charges and current prices are not included. Tax is a simplified percentage on each subtotal, not a universal tariff rule.

Breakdown and progression

How it is calculated

Energy = Σ band kWh × band price. Fixed cost = days × (daily charge + contracted kW × price per kW per day). Other charges are added, then percentage tax on the sum. Sensitivity changes consumption only.

Total cost = (Σ kWh × Price + Fixed cost + Other costs) × (1 + Manually entered tax/100)

Hypothetical example; enter your own prices. Currencies are not converted.

A: 150 × 0.20 + 100 × 0.15 + 30 × (0.10 + 4 × 0.10) = 60; B = 57.60

Questions about this tool

Why can the cheapest tariff change with consumption?

Use the same consumption bands and billing days for every offer. Power in kW affects fixed charges; energy in kWh affects variable charges. The cheapest offer can change as consumption changes.
